ASIST Scholarships 2024





ASIST SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION



EWI of Western Washington offers the Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) Scholarship Program in Western Washington area. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to adult students in a non-traditional or transitional educational situation. EWI believes that the ASIST Program will positively impact the personal life, employment, family and community of the applicant.


Scholarship Awards:

Amounts of scholarship(s) will vary based on the number of applicants and their respective need. Historically, awards have averaged $2,500. Awards can be used for the recipient’s tuition and related expenses, which can include books and mandatory fees. Not included are items such as rent, utility payments, travel expense, day care expense or repayment of existing loans.

Application Criteria:

The ASIST Scholarship is a non-discriminatory, educational scholarship program for the benefit of non-traditional students pursuing an associate’s, bachelor's or master's degree, or a certification program at an accredited educational institution. These include persons who are:

·       Past high school age and who are entering a college, university, or trade school and/or the workforce for the first time

·       Non-traditional students already enrolled in a college, university, or trade school program

·       Re-training due to changes in the workplace

 

Applicants for the ASIST Western Washington scholarship must reside in Western Washington.

 

To apply, applicants must be able to:

·       Clearly define their career goals and objectives.

·       Specify the educational requirements to attain the above goals and objectives.

·       Utilize re-entry programs or personal assessment programs available through colleges, universities, community agencies, service groups or career professionals.

 

Timeline:

Application period         January 3, 2024 – March 25, 2024, at 11:59PM CST/ 9:59 PM PST

Review of applicants     April

Award notification         by beginning of May

 

Awards are made payable to the respective school. Scholarship awards are valid for one year from the date granted and must be paid within one year of being awarded. Unclaimed awards will be returned to the EWI of Western Washington chapter for redistribution.

 

Awardees may apply again for the scholarship. It is not limited to one award per individual.

 

Application Process:

Applications are completed online via www.myKaleidoscope.com. No paper applications will be accepted. Access is available at:

Applicants will need to create their own account on https://myKaleidoscope.com. This will allow an individual access to their application until the deadline. A link can also be found on the EWI of Western Washington at website at:

https://ewi-western-washington.com under ASIST Scholarship section.

 

The application deadline is Monday, March 25, 2024, 11:59 PM CST/ 9:59 PM PST


It is helpful if the following items are ready in advance as they will need to be uploaded:

·       Transcripts from schools attending (or most recent school attended).

·       Letters of Recommendation (2)

·       Financial Documents

o   FAFSA

o   Other Scholarships awarded, etc.

·       Essay (maximum 1,000 words)

 

The applicant can continue to work on, refine or add additional material to their application even though the process says “submit”. You must SUBMIT to save any changes.

 

Corporate Scholarship:

EWI Western Washington chapter scholarship recipients will be submitted to the Executive Women International Corporate Board for consideration in the national ASIST Scholarship Program.
